Heavy panting, wheezing, choking, blue gums, or open-mouth breathing indicate a respiratory emergency.
Trauma
Falls, car accidents, bites, or sudden injuries require immediate veterinary evaluation, even if your pet “seems fine”.
Toxin Ingestion/Allergic Reaction
Signs include swelling, hives, vomiting, drooling, shaking, or trouble breathing. Time is critical! Seek emergency assistance right away.
Seizures
Any seizure episode is urgent, especially if it’s your pet’s first time or if multiple seizures occur close together.
Vomiting/Diarrhea
Repeated vomiting/diarrhea, blood in stool or vomit, or signs of abdominal pain can escalate quickly and require prompt care.

Inability to Urinate or Defecate

Paralysis/Severe Lameness
Sudden limb weakness or hind-leg paralysis may indicate spinal or neurological issues requiring immediate attention.
Uncontrolled Bleeding
Persistent bleeding, bloody urine/stool/vomit, or wounds that do not clot with pressure should be assessed right away.
